    • Poor foamy slag practice
    • Slag build-up in the furnace
    • Tap selection and hence arc length, in absence of sufficient foaminess, damaging refractory and causing energy loss.
    • Oversize scrap and bucket loading practice
  • ACTIONS
    • Changed the ratio of the lime and dolomitic lime added, as well as, the practice to improve slag basicity and foaminess during the entire heat process
    • Involved third party to improve tap selection and arc length optimization
    • Worked together with customer to improve scrap selection and loading practice
